What is a sell by date? How long is the product good after the sell by date?
Answer
The date is usually put on the package to designate when it is to be sold by retail. You will want to consume the product within 7 days after sell by date. If you know this can't be done and the package is unopened, then you can freeze it. If the package has been opened,
wrap in Saran wrap and put it in a freezer bag, take out as much air as possible and freeze. Product should be consumed within 2-3 months.

What are hot dogs really made of?

Contrary to the myths that circulate on a regular basis, most companies make their hot dogs and sausage out of skeletal meat and can contain up to 15% of poultry. However the poultry must be properly identified. All other ingredients must appear on the label including water, sugar (dextrose) spices and curing agents.

YES! Alpine uses a Natural Smoke process to cook our hot dogs and sausages. They are cooked to a temperature set by the United States Department of Agriculture to insure their safety.

What's the best way to cook a frozen hot dog?
Answer
A bring a pot of water to a slow boil and drop hot dog carefully into the water. When the hot dog rises to the top it is ready to eat. This method is for unfrozen product also.
